Timmy Tag for April 2014 complete!

April showers bring Tim Holtz flowers.....or so it seems with the new tag for April. :)

Tim's tag this month is heavenly.  Of course, it usually ends up with not having all the supplies he used in his work, however modifying it can be so much fun and inventive.
In this case, I used the Pine Cone die to cut patterned cardstock, and formed the paper spirals into roses as he shows in his You Tube tutorial on the use of the pine cone die.  These were formed and glued using a hot glue gun, and finally inked with Festive Berry and Scattered Straw Distress inks.

I cut the "lattice" out of grunge paper, saving the inside cut-outs for future use.  The lattice was painted with Forest Moss and Antiqued Bronze Distress paints and dried before anchoring to the tag with Glossy Accents. I used two inked grunge-paper cut-out pieces to insert back into the lattice frame, inking them up with Walnut Stain before insetting.
I dyed the ribbon with Scattered Straw Distress ink, attached a word band with my TH mini attacher, and added a brad made using one of Tim's custom fastener brads.

Being that I also didn't have the philosophy tags and the wire pin, I created my own tag using a piece of the grunge paper cut-out pieces, and one of TH mini paper clips, sandwiched between two pattern-paper cardstock pieces. I then coated front and back with Glossy Accents, dried, and hug on the ribbon with a second mini paper clip. Too cute, I say!!

I hope you enjoyed this overview my tag project. I must say, this is one of my favorite ones.  :)
Thank you for letting me share, and happy inking!!

Tim Holtz March 2014 tags

Hi everyone! It seems that March crept up on us and is almost done. It has been a very busy month and, although we were able to do our tags earlier this month, I was delayed in putting them up on my blog.
I LOVE the new TH stamp set that we used in the March tag, and absolutely adore the new Wallflower papers, mini distress inks and inky toys. My, my....where to start! (So excited!)  Anyway....back to the tags..... you need to check out all the gals' creations at Janet's blog, http://hilltopcreations.blogspot.com.  Janet, Barb, Moe, Dorothy, Julie and myself had a grand time. Love this tag and the technique!

Now to get my hands on the folios! Oh, happy times!! *chuckling and doing happy dance*
Happy scrapping everyone!
Till next time....
Hugzzz,
Debbie

Tim Holtz February 2014 tag

Well, it's February still, but just barely. The ladies got together for a tag night on Wednesday evening and had an inky and glittery good time. Tim has a simple tag this month, however too much giggling and swinging off topic created a very long tag night!

Please hop over to Janet's blog, http://hilltopcreations.blogspot.com , to see some of the other tags as well. Janet, Barb, Liz and I had a very fun evening inking together, and can't wait for March's tag!

Thank you for stopping by for a look-see!

Hugz,
Debbie :)

Pocket Mini Album share

January has been a very busy month, with a multitude of birthdays piling up around us. I wanted to share a little mini that I created for a very special friend last week. It helps to have a focus when building these albums, and knowing a bit about the person can really help in the design.....whether they like fussy or clean decor...color.....theme...if they like bugs...lol.

Ok....so the bugs are butterflies, which is a "pretty" bug for the girls. It was probably influenced by the fact that I like butterflies and dragonflies, and also that I had embellishments that fit that idea. Anyhow, it turned out pretty amazing and she was thrilled, as I had hoped.

The inside front cover has a belly band that holds a tri-fold insert for photos and journalling spots.

The first page has a flap that opens up for adding photos. Also, each page is a "pocket" that holds a large tag/photo mat that will pull out and hold a photo on each side, if you wish....

This second page has two pockets, and an example of one of the pull-out large photo mats is shown below...

This page is actually two half-pages that holds a tag in each one.

The above short page on the left contains two small tags for photos. On the right side, this page has a pocket that will hold journalling tags....

Left short page opened.....

The back of the 6th and final page has a gate-fold style photo place and the inside of the back cover includes a waterfall feature for showcasing 4"x4" photos.

I used Momenta papers primarily for this album. The covers are chipboard and wrapped in cardstock for the base, then decorated using the designer paper pack. I have also used a sheet of Bo Bunny dotted paper on the cover and various embellishments, such as K & Co and Recollections flowers and butterflies and other bits from my stash. Basic Grey magnets are used in the flaps for a nifty closure.
I thank Ginger from mysistersscrapper.com for the inspiration for these Pocket Page mini albums. Love how this turned out and can't wait to start another mini soon. Thank you for stopping by and letting me share this little gem with you.
Until next time......   :)

Happy Scrappy New Year!!

Well, it looks like we are now into a new year.  Thank heavens, because the last two months have been tedious with recovering from a surgery and then getting hit with the flu bug. We started out the New Year right, however, by getting scrappy with a few friends on January 2nd. The day was like a ray of sunshine beaming down on us. We scrapped and ate (everyone pitched in with a delicious feast) and giggled and laughed.

In December, I put together a wallet mini album that I came across in one of my You Tube journeys. Thanks to Dawn at Dawn's Inspirations (www.dawnsinspirations.com).....I was able to create the wallet mini. My friend, Janet (Hilltop Creations) and I were sharing some Christmas cards when she came across the wallet, and took an instant shine to it. So in our little January crop, we just HAD to make more. And we did.

I was a tad late in posting this project, but buddy Janet managed to get her pics uploaded to her blog over at Hilltop Creations. This was so much fun to create, and I believe I have introduced Janet to jump beyond the traditional cardmaking.....lol...sorry Janet! Anyhow, here are more pics of the Wallet Mini....
This shows the top flap lifted up, then the next (bottom) flap folds down, and each of the side flaps fold outwards.  But that's not all....
Each side flap opens to reveal additional photo/journalling spots, pockets and spots for tags. It's an amazing little mini that can hold at least 10 4x6 photos and several tags for more photos or journalling spots.

And then I did another, using Momento papers from another 8x8 paper pad...
....with an added extra bottom flap.....

This was a very quick project that can be completed in a few hours, and definitely a breath of fresh air from the minis that take upwards of 20 to 30+ hours to create. Loved this mini!

Thanks again go to Dawn for sharing her fabulous Wallet mini at Dawn's Inspirations blog. Such a talented lady :)

Hope you enjoyed my ramblings, and maybe found a new project to play with!
Happy Scrapping :)

January 2014 Tim Holtz tag

Well, dog-gone it, it's almost the end of January already. It has a been an extremely quick month and, although later into it, our TH Tag group has once again completed Tim's new tag. A lot of fun and giggles and soooooo much ink with this one! Three of us (Janet, Barb and myself) pulled it together and got our latest tags completed last evening.
The tag above is my creation.....the tags that Janet and Barb created can be seen at Hilltop Creations blog. They all looked much the same this time, and we had so much fun and "oops'" in their making. Loving the layering stencils and the dies!

Until next time, ladies and gents........happy inking :)
